Crochet baby blankets are very popular and there are so many out there! Here's a little pattern for you to whip up for the newborn in your life. This pattern is very simple and very easy to make.
There are many on the web that are very similar to this with soft cluster stitches and thus is how I got my inspiration to make my own! I actually used a dish cloth pattern and turned it into a baby blanket.
The slanted double crochet clusters make for a weighted blanket with soft bobbles. At first glance, the blanket seems complex but it's really super easy! Make one in beautiful baby blues or choose your own color palette!

Hook Size: H8
Gauge: 1” across cluster
Measures: 32” wide by 34"-36” long (sizes vary by crafter)
Supplies: 2 skeins each of three contrasting yarns.
Instructions:
Ch 122
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and across
Row 2: ch 1, *(sc, ch 2, 4 dc) all in next sc, sk next 3 sc, repeat from * across, sc in last sc
Row 3: ch 3, 4 dc in 1st sc, *(sc, ch 2, 4 dc) all in next ch2sp, repeat from * across, sc in last sc
Repeat row 3 until 34” or desired length.
